In this story, we first meet Audrey and Blake when they are young newlyweds, so excited for their future together.

Unfortunately, as life would sometimes have it, things didn't work out for them. A tragic accident left Blake paralyzed and in a wheelchair. While trying to navigate things post-accident it all just fell apart (as it so often does). Both Audrey and Blake handled things poorly (as humans often do).

Now, years later, Audrey is engaged to Patrick (who is pretty horrible) and he will be the step-father to their two children. He's not near the stable father that Blake now is, and it's obvious that there are unresolved issues and feelings between Audrey and Blake. As the story unfolds, Audrey starts to see more and more of Patrick's flaws come to light, and how he just can't compare to Blake.
