Leadership Signals is my attempt to share my experience that leadership only occurs when one has followers and that it occurs as a process of social influence that maximises efforts of others towards achievement of set goals. I endeavour to explain how I achieved one of the envied senior leadership positions as Chief Executive of an examining board through self-confidence, consistence, focus, courage and strategic decision making. I highlight the signals of readiness to take up leadership, how I worked my leadership dreams and a few things to look out for if one has to succeed as a leader. In this book, I highlight signals that show endowment with leadership skills and presence of leadership in persons and organisations respectively. I further account for how I spearheaded transformation of the examining board I was privileged to lead as CEO and its operations, based on Clayton Alderfer's Existence, Relatedness and Growth (ERG) Theory of motivation, by crafting my own strategy and working my dreams out for the good of the organisation. It is a motivational story book for those aspiring for leadership, a guide for those practicing leadership and a model for those looking for examples of successful transformational leadership.
