IT'S TIME TO DIVORCE DIVORCE AND GIVE MARRIAGE ITS DUE HONOUR. The entire subject of divorce and re-marriage is a complex and emotionally charged issue. It is one of the most vexing problems the church faces in these modern days. Roughly one in four marriages (including those of Christians) ends in divorce. In Western culture, many people have a low view of marriage, approaching it casually with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude, rather than the reverence that Scripture gives it: "Let marriage be held in honor among all" (Heb. 13:4a). Marriage should not be entered into lightly. It is not a game. It is a serious covenant relationship. The problem is, most people these days are not prepared for marriage. They have not been educated as to the seriousness of marriage or its responsibilities. When it turns out not to be like the fairy tale that Hollywood has force-fed them, they cast it aside with no regard for it or its sanctity.
