No one was prepared for the speed at which Covid-19 swept across the globe. In less than three months there was not a country unaffected by the virus, and by the end of March one third of humanity would be under some form of Lockdown. Countries closed borders in an attempt to stop the spread of the deadly disease. Many lost their jobs. Many lost loved ones. We found heroes in our medical staff while we struggled with the 'New Normal.' There was no rulebook on how to contain the virus and countries chose different responses. Containment was a common goal. New Zealand's goal was elimination."SIX MONTHS - New Zealand and the Covid-19 Pandemic," is a day-by-day account of some of the most important world events that took place in the first half of 2020. It is predominantly presented as a series of bite-sized reports, interspersed with information on the mysterious virus, as it became known. A particular emphasis is put on New Zealand's response to the Pandemic and the path the New Zealand Government, and it's people, took to eliminate the virus.
