Having beat the odds as a child of; poverty, domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse by both parents and illiteracy (one parent barley surpassing grammar school & the other dropping out in the 11th grade) the author is able to understand people's feelings and is driven to make a difference in others. The author is warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth. Nnika is in tuned to others and she can often times anticipate others needs-especially emotional ones. This book is raw and readers will feel a range of emotions as they read through the pages, connect to examples of real life situations like road rage to juggling family members that are afflicted with drug addictions and alcoholism.
