This book covers the subjects in the Mathematics for Technicians unit in the various level 3 BTEC engineering programmes. But the book will also be of use to first year A level students and anyone who wishes to improve the mathematics skills. The focus of the book is on understanding the concepts and there will be discussions of the common mistakes students make in various topics. It is common for students not to be fully prepared to start an A level or BTEC course because of a lack of understanding in some of the topics at GCSE level and in some cases because students are not taught some topics at level 2. For this reason, the book contains a support section, in which two GCSE level topics are discussed, topics which students commonly have problems with.
