"How did we become so comfortable with playing God, in a world we really know so little about?" "I don't have an answer for you, Tad." Jerry told him, quietly. "AllI know is that we hunt things that belong in another world, and we do that to protect human kind, for the greater good of this world. And just knowing we can help even one human, has always been answer enough for me." "Well, it just simply isn't enough anymore." Tad slammed his fist off the wooden table, scattering the paperwork and spilling his beer all over the papers. "There has to be another way, Jerry. I feel like I murdered that poor woman. All she was trying to do was protect the world from the evil soul of her husband, and I just ended her, without a single moment of hesitation...it's not right. Maybe I am the monster...maybe I am the evil one. Maybe someone should be hunting me!" Jerry watched his friend, sadly. He wished he knew the words to make him feel better. He wished with all his heart Tad could find a way to be happy, because this anger wasn't only rooted by the way they lived their lives...the life they had chosen. It came from something much deeper. Tad had been burying himself into his work since Lucy died. Striving to not have to deal with his sorrow, and now his anger had taken him a little too far. He could only hope that he'd be able to figure out a way to help Tad, before it was too late...
