Chris's parents go away for a weekend vacation during Halloween weekend allowing him to stay home for the yearly annual Halloween Beach Fair Festival, unknowingly to Chris's parents he has a lifelong imaginary friend named If, they begin with a night camp out down to there front yard bay for fun, the events there after lead them to for the first time slowing begin falling in love with each other, it's a coming of age tale of childhood innocence colliding with the transitioning of two kids into adulthood.
