Katelyn O'Connor has a plan: create beautiful book art, eat spicy shrimp, and avoid her toxic family.


Her plans change when her apartment floods. Desperate, she jumps at the offer her best friend throws her way. Since her brother will be gone for three months, she can move into his empty place while she waits on her apartment to dry out. Only, she wasn't expecting Nic to arrive home at two in the morning, and he wasn't expecting Katelyn to be curled up in his bed.

Katelyn knows Nic is known for his playboy ways. Nic knows he shouldn't be having bedroom thoughts about his sister's best friend. But despite their best intentions, sparks fly. One thing leads to another, and soon Katelyn finds out it's not the spicy shrimp that's making her sick.


Shaken, she turns to Nic for comfort and support. Instead, she's devastated when he hotly tells her he has absolutely no desire to be a father. Faced with the reality that she'll be a single mother, Katelyn beings to make plans for a future that will include a baby but not Nic-not ever again.


As the months pass, Katelyn is secure in knowing that she's found herself. And Nic is realizing what he's thrown away.
