After losing everything - well, close to everything - because the woman that I loved betrayed me, I had to figure out what I could rebuild upon. She stole from me and got rid of nearly all of my possessions. I had to reflect on the illicit lifestyle that landed me where I am; I could not return to that. I didn't finish college; I don't have a trade or technical skill. I had lost years of writing due to my poor decision making. Now, with my life on the line, I use writing as my mental and emotional release from the walls the state did not confine me in. I am releasing myself from the prison of conditioned ignorance in which I had caged myself for too long.
