Sometimes it's thistles and patches of poison ivy but nonetheless we have to wade through in shorts and sandals, braving the barbs and expecting to itch.
How we deal with life and its unexpected events depends largely on how we perceive ourselves and our ability to deal with things like grief, loss and pain.

It may be with the aspect of a glass half-empty, the future a despondent and bleak fog of uncertainty.

Sometimes it's a glass half-full, the shadow of opportunity and the flickering flare of hope visible around the corners.

In this collection you will find poems from both pessimistic and optimistic viewpoints, the negative offset by the positive in rhyming form and free-verse poetry.

Melancholia, depression and resignation...positivism, hope and faith.

It takes one to be in the dark to truly see the light.




This book has been written with the express purpose of raising money for charitable institutions geared toward assisting and ultimately eliminating homelessness in England.
All proceeds (minus production costs) from initial sales will go directly to the charity, Framework.

Agencies such as Framework operate on a charitable basis to offer mental health support, guidance and practical welfare solutions, not only to those affected by homelessness but those who find themselves in severely disadvantaged situations.
