Running away from home to escape abuse, young Willy finds himself in a park alone and hungry.

As darkness fell and his stomach growled for food, he vowed he would rather starve to death than go back home. If he had to choose, the bench would become his home if it meant avoiding the pain he had suffered since birth.

Who would have thought that a passing stranger and his dog would change Willy's life? Flashes of the past haunt the stranger, sparking thoughts of a connection of more than this rag-a-muffin in the park.
