As a 60 year old white woman, Cheryl Hunter tells a tale of her own journey from ignorance to awareness and how she continues to dismantle her own ingrained stigma that centuries of colonialism and subjugation have left as a white legacy. Her southern California hometown of Yucaipa has been the center of racism on many occasions. And though it is still a place that the author cherishes, she feels a sense of obligation to speak out and start a conversation of truth.
