This disease impacted his family and friends, and Mickey's life was forever changed. The story follows how Mickey continued to care for Bill and how she dealt with his memory loss and how she dealt with her new role in their marriage. Wind Beneath my Wings was written to spread the word about Alzheimer's and to help others who are going through similar experiences with a loved one.
