This range of theatre specific aircrew survival manuals follow on from the original book 'HEMS Helicopter Essentials', a survival manual that is totally different and hopefully like no other. In an ideal world, if you follow the first half of that manual, you should not need the second part. The aim of these smaller manuals is to alleviate the all too common 'generic survival skills' that are found in many textbooks. Each area of the planet is wonderful, but vastly different. As aircrew we can find ourselves over a multitude of environments during a routine flight, so rather than overload our knowledge if we keep to the basic principles of survival and a few basic regional specific items... Just the 'Essentials' that will keep you alive.
