Bob welcomes the opportunity to fly north for a fly-fishing trip in the late fall. But, things do not go as anticipated due to conflict with his fellow fishermen. When it is time to return home, the plane can only fly two men back because of high winds, so Bob is left behind for the second fly out. The plane never returns, forcing Bob to find his own way out of the remote location. He struggles with pain, starvation and desperation during his two month ordeal. His return from the wilderness tests his endurance and his survival skills. His inner strength and his love for his family, including a strong mental connection with his brother, drive him to continue his struggle back home. Bob's life after his harrowing ordeal is tough on him and his family. Bob finds gratification in making new prosthetics for children from impoverished families. His charity work gives him a new passion and a new lease on life. Bob writes about his grueling adventure in a successful book entitled 'Return from the Wilderness'.
