This is not a simplified "how to" (hunt ghosts) or a "what is" (a ghost) book. It is for the serious researcher of, and fieldwork at, haunted locations. This involves an ethnographic sensitivity and archaeological sensibility focused on haunting phenomena. But it is also more a critical analysis and critique of a 'normative' ghost hunting approach and an "other" form of both anthropological participant-observation and archaeological excavation. This becomes a hybrid approach to what remains (other than material culture) of the past in the present.
