He leapt another chasm and was finally with her. At least he thought he was. The Woman at his feet did not bear the markings of his people at all. She did wear the same odd looking clothing as the She Warrior. Her hair was the same ebony. He gently eased his hands beneath her torso. Her body was hot to the touch but he barely registered the fact. His need to check her wounds being too urgent to care. He didn't see any mortal wounds but she had lost much blood and there was always the risk of infection. He tore long pieces of his own shirt to stop the blood in places where he could. He scooped her into his arms and only one word came to mind. MINE! She was MINE! How it happened he didn't know or care, he just knew she belonged to him. Looking at her in his arms he had to wonder how she was even still alive. So small, so fragile. He didn't know how she had survived the battle let alone the Orb's attack.
