Blue - It's my favorite color, something I hold dear to my heart. But the definition of "blue" is extensive - "being blue" describes the sad emotion; a "blue moon" is the second full moon within a calendar month. Most of the things I love are in shades or hues of blue - the midday sky, the ocean, pants made of denim that fit just right... The different definitions of blue reflect the different portions or phases of this season of my life - this first year of adulthood that truly took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions... Love. Worry/Anxiety. Fear. Determination. People-pleasing. Pride. Concern. The mental battles. The spiritual battles. The nights spent crying alone, or with someone that would just let me cry, let me be. Learning how to let go. Learning how to be confident in who I am. Learning how to really be a Christian without the confines of a Christian institution. Who I was had to be torn down in order for a new better me to be rebuilt. The plans and process of my growth came as a surprise to me, but not to my God. His blueprint for my life is still occurring, and is still relevant. Welcome to my world. Welcome to Blue.
