Patricia Masuda-Story, Psy. D., QME is a licensed clinical psychologist in California and Colorado. She created this little handbook to assist patients in identifying and understanding psychological mechanisms of personal sabotage which she calls "shadow puppets." These are an individual's inner, darkest, deepest parts which cause havoc and distress. This book outlines the most common shadow puppets and allows the reader to identify other existing and more specific personal psychological components. These interfere with proper socialization and daily functioning. Dr. Story provides a few exercises to assist the reader in identifying negative shadow puppets, determine their mechanism of interference, and helps eradicate the maladaptive influences they have on a person.
