The 51 poems contained in this volume were penned by Don Blackburn in the early 1990s when he was a frequent visitor to the Trinity and Klamath. While staying in a cabin far up a narrow, cliff-hugging road in the Trinity River canyon, he got to know the river ecosystem on an intimate level, and saw firsthand its heart-rending challenges. In this collection, Don explores the spiritual and sensual dimensions of the two rivers; his words convey his reverence for these sacred sisters, and vividly capture his lived experience of being suspended in time, in nature.
