Atheist, May Stevens, an operative for Conglomerate Bank and Trust, is reassigned to find the thieves who stole a gold shipment and murdered the guards, one of whom was her fiancé. She has to relocate halfway across America. The bank's goal is to bring them to justice. May's goal is to be chief judge and executioner. God has other plans, not only for May, but also for the obscure town of Spamsville, Minnesota and its hundred residents. A population explosion begins with the arrival of a betrayed wife and her daughter in witness protection.
