Each year, grapes go through a magnificent transformation before they are picked to make wine. The term used late in the ripening process is called veraison. The grape begins to soften and is starting to gain new colors and become palatable. Before veraison occurs, the grape is essentially bitter and useless. Much like the grape, we must grow and mature in our knowledge of marriage before we venture down a lifetime of togetherness. This book is for a certain kind of crazy- defined as those who, despite looking at the historical statistics around marriage, decide it is for them anyways. Is that you? Have you found the one? We must warn you. This isn't going to be easy. Hard conversations are certain to happen. If you're like us, you know we must wade through these uncertain waters. We already know you are like us, though, because you have read this far. The next generation is changing marriage statistics for the better. They lived through high divorce rates and would give anything to not go through it themselves. They understand that the upside of marriage far outweighs the downside of possible divorce, and are willing to do everything in their power to ensure that they have a strong, healthy marriage. Veraison was created to do just that.
