Love is Just the Beginning takes place from 1965-2015 and follows the love story between Natalie Lily and Beau Morgan. Set in the fictional small town of Riverton, Alabama, Natalie has grown up in the opulent wealth of the Lily family, but when she meets handsome Beau in 1965 her life is changed forever. Warm and affectionate Dr. Conner Lily welcomes Beau into the family fold. However, her mother, Sally, disapproves of Beau for being no-good trash who plays the steel guitar and writes songs in the fictional Country band, Alabama Iron, with roguish lead singer Christian Leopard, sultry Joanie Hart and Aaron and Moses Hicks. Its love at first sight for Beau and Natalie, but after they move to Nashville, faith-filled Natalie faces temptations during her married life in the form of charming Dr. James Sutton who she works with as a nurse at Nashville General Hospital. Beau struggles against crippling self-doubt as he tries to avoid his worst fear, ending up like his abusive, alcoholic father. His jealously also fights to overwhelm him, as Alabama Iron climbs up the Country music charts, and he spends more time away from Natalie.
