This is, effectively, the sequel to the popular "In Memory" series in which I documented my footplate life in the last years of steam. Clag & Rockets is all about 'Locomotive Practice & Performance' and specifically the years 1964 and 65 at Nine Elms. The book covers 18 different runs with 16 different locomotives of the classes; Merchant Navy, West Country, Battle of Britain and both rebuilt and original Bulleid designs. The types of duties worked with these engines include an 'enthusiast' special, the TPO, a run with the down Royal Wessex and setting a record on the 'Weymouth Mails'.
