Like Billy Joel's Brenda and Eddie, Jackie Cavamodo sat in Study Hall at Lyndhurst High School and the most beautiful girl he had ever seen walked through the double doors and into his life. He passed her a note: "Hi. My name is Jackie. What's yours?" She smiled and passed back a note that simply said: "Hi, back! My name is Jasmine...like the flower." Twenty years later, Jackie and the girl he nicknamed "Jazz" sat in the conference room of a pricey law firm banging out the details of their divorce. Jackie loves Jazz is not only the title of this novella but it's also Jackie's state of mind as he recalls the events that landed them in their current situation. But something's wrong. Something doesn't quite fit, make sense. Jackie loves Jazz is about the secrets, the unspoken words, the sins of commission or omission that can alter history and possibly destroy true love.
