Where is Home? Elisabeth Walter

This story is set a few centuries into the future, and follows the adventures of the Gandhi VII and its passengers and allies. With their Friendships, a race of sapient trees who have willingly allowed themselves to be adapted for space flight, and who have now achieved the ability to jump between distant solar systems they have set up an exploration grid in order to search for home. Midway into this venture, and before they can identify their route back to FCP space, they have to interrupt their efforts to provide assistance to an alien race whose home planet is about to fall into a black hole. This emergency will require them to stretch their ingenuity to the limits. Will they succeed in their self-imposed task of saving the Prrrrians, and will they ever find home?
