The Duepner Connection Mary Catherine Williams

Joseph Duepner emigrated from Buhl, Germany, to the lively community of Bremen, now known as North St. Louis, Missouri. He and his wife, Sophia (nee Kohler), set up their roots on Destrehan Street, in Hyde Park, and worshipped at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Their story and traditions spanned three generations of life in St. Louis from the late 1800s through the 1950s. They lived through such events as the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, Prohibition, World War I and World War II.
