The book "Park Your Ego: Face Your Bullsh*t and Own It" is a prompt follow-up of the book "Cold Shower for Managers: Empower and Inspire Your Team with Your Humility and Accountability" (2019). The difference in this book is that there are some insights on how you can work better together as a team not only if you lead a team but also if you are an individual contributor. The purpose of the book is to provoke both team managers and their colleagues to think about the role of their ego in their work and to take 100% accountability for facing and owning their bullsh*t. The word "ego" has a Latin origin, and it means "I". The "ego" in the book is referred to as a person's sense of self-esteem or self-importance. The ego becomes inflated when this self-esteem is unrealistic. The ego is balanced when a person has a realistic grasp of his three B's - beliefs, biases, and bullsh*t.
