Crime began with the birth of mankind and could be viewed as a game between the forces of law and order and those that for whatever reason have chosen to cross the line. But who are the players? Detectives Jim Abbot and Dennis Froome try desperately to uphold the law whilst at times battling their own demons. In this novel, adapted from the author's award-nominated screenplays, the duo encounters an actor falling in with money laundering and drug gangs, a London Cabby seeking revenge on terrorist cells and finally a serial killer suspected as being an LGBT soldier. Froome tries throughout to keep a secret from Abbot, his superior officer, believing that he would not have the man's support, and ultimately both are put to the test.
