Iris sits beside her daughter as she fights for her life having crashed her car. Ashley was intoxicated when it happened and probably not just with alcohol. As Iris holds Ashley's hand she remembers all the times she had to pull her out of scrapes over the years but this time there is nothing she can do to help her. Ashley was always considered a troublesome child, Iris was always there to stand up for her, making excuses every time she was in trouble. She wonders if she made the right decisions over the years, should she have made Ashley answer for all her wrong doings? instead of trying to protect her. How could her beautiful daughter end up in this mess. Ashley's life is in the hands of the Doctors whom Iris has great faith in. But when they tell her there is no hope she won't give up on Ashley.
