Every Legacy Project interview concluded with, "What do you see when you look at yourself in the mirror?" Holding up the hand-held mirror to their face, the interviewee spent a few minutes pondering the answer. While physical characteristics may have been the first thing that came to mind, the responses often extended far beyond appearance. While looking at their reflections, the residents were challenged to think back, reflect upon the life journey that had brought them to where they are, and consider the legacy they had left on their communities. Their Lives Reflected is a treasury of life experiences of eighteen residents living in a Massachusetts senior community. These stories were documented and preserved through an endeavor coined "The Legacy Project," which encompassed interviewing individuals with the desire to uncover the details behind their journeys and determine how they hope to be remembered. This book provides an in-depth and candid view into the ups-and-downs of the residents' life adventures-from their greatest triumphs, career successes, and most joy-filled moments to the adversity they faced, the battles they fought, and the grief they so profoundly felt.
