Dragons on Mars

The writer's goal is to capitalize on our fears and weaknesses, to touch a hidden part of the heart, and expose a raw nerve to the air, or unmask a hidden pain. Or maybe just to have fun reading stories that entertain for just a few minutes and allows us to escape the world that we live in. We dream of the lowly boy who becomes famous, the powerless who becomes powerful, the ability to fly and wonder about the aliens among us. For some of us we look for the good and find it hard to dwell on the negative things of life. Yet in real life the tragedy and comedy both happen in the same day. It's the tales of others that we hear about that take us out of our comfort zone, wondering if that could also happen to us, but it is the imagination that takes us to another world. Maybe there is not a lesson to be learned from each tale, but each tale is designed to make you think, laugh, and even cry. We all grow up, but the little boy (or girl) remains inside us. Some of us just need to be reminded that we were once young and innocent ourselves.
