The church in Ephesus had problems. The apostle Paul seeks to restore their fellowship and peace. Some Jewish Christians needed to stop teaching the divisive doctrine of Judaism. Many Gentiles needed confidence in their salvation restored. They had permitted Judaism to confuse them and they were falling back into their old sinful practices. The solution to all their problems, and any church problems today, was to read and put on the armor of God (i.e., truth) (see Ephesians 3:4 and 6:10ff).
