What did Chris find which propelled him on many adventures?It all started up at Lightning Ridge in outback Australia where the famed Black Opals are found. There he came across an unusual Stone hidden deep down in the wall of the mine shaft. So begins the story. He found it the day after his father opened up a rich opal seam. Having been a miner for several years his father was now able to give his family a better life. They come to settle in Kendal, a university town further south. There, Chris meets Anika, the daughter of a relative of his mother, a girl called Tippy and a younger boy called Rohan. So begins a strange adventure in which the Stone, having been discovered to hold magical properties, takes the four friends into another world and they save an ancient forest from destruction by a logging company.
