Above Us Only Sky
Carl Scott Harker
It is my intent, when I write poetry, to take the reader on a journey, or to amuse, or to provide a new insight or to express our common, shared experiences.
In this new collection of poetry, written between late April and late October of 2020, you will find Covid-19 poems and poems about Joe Biden and Donald Trump. There are poems about people such as the poems inspired by the death of Herman Cain or my personal memory of Robin Williams. There are also wildfire poems and spider poems and other poems I will leave unlabeled.
While the poems, here, reflect the personal experiences and thoughts I have had during these turbulent months, as well as my memories and dreams. I know that you will find yourself here, too.
So come into these pages and have a laugh, remember things you had forgotten, experience new things, find new insights... be outraged and sad and smile and revel in our shared humanity.
Look for other books of my poetry on Amazon such as "Poems by My Cat," "Frankenstein's Monster in Oz," "Am I Indigenous?" and "The Van Gogh Poems."
