Oreo Misses Daddy!

Even though Oreo purrs and has four legs, he still notices when one of his very favorite humans is away from home.


Just like children, Oreo can see the signs as Daddy prepares to leave home.


When the suitcase comes out, Oreo gets sad.


Children of military families will relate to Oreo as they experience their own sadness as the adult in their life leaves and the joy upon their return.

As a military spouse I often see families, especially children, struggle when their loved ones leave for active duty. As my husband would come and go, I began to see a pattern with Oreo missing his "daddy." When children read Waiting for Daddy to Come Home, they will relate to Oreo and his feelings will mirror their own. I am thankful God has given me the vision for this book to help others in a way I never would have thought possible.
Desiree lives in North Carolina with her husband and, of course, Oreo, who is the light of their lives.
