The Wayward One is a haunting collection of poems centering on experiences that irrevocably shaped author Hayley Jo's childhood and adolescence. Following a series of traumatic events, Hayley Jo entered the foster care system at age eleven, where she was shocked to learn how many other children and teens had similar stories-stories often left untold. Now as an adult, Hayley Jo is ready to share her story and offer a unique perspective on what it means to not only survive adversity, but thrive in spite of it.
