The field of modern theoretical physics is in need of a major course correction. In this book, we argue that current physical models and physics theories have way too many unobservables, way too many forces, way too many fields, and just way too many variables to function as a proper theory at all.

Forget about revolutions and paradigm shifts. Revolutions are never more than surface ripples. To save physics, we need to keep shoring up the original foundation while removing the hideous, gilded baroque facade it has acquired over the last one hundred years. Thus, we offer a new metaphor and a new mechanically motivated model for a new millennium.
