You will experience the trauma each of these women endure, and the survival techniques they use to protect themselves, as they struggle to understand why they were not protected by their mothers, who tacitly believed the fathers and remained silent witnesses to their plight Margaret is the second daughter and her story is interwoven and overlapped by those of Alice, Sharon the granddaughter, and others they meet on their journey to adulthood.
