Mere TV Natak Satish Kumar Verma

The book titled "Mere TV Natak" includes four plays (Mrig Trishna, Mamta, Khoon, and Aje Vi Supne Sulgade") out of all that I wrote for the television screen during the last twenty-five years. I don't have any authentic information on the first two plays as to when, where, and on what channel they were beamed as these were written by me at the bidding of a private producer. The third one "Khoon" was written at the recommendation of Sarojini Raina, Producer, and Kulwinder Buttar, the Production Assistant in Doordarshan Jalandhar. It is based on a short story with the same title written by Gurbachan Singh Bhullar, the eminent short-story writer in the Punjabi world of fiction. Based on the poems of my elder son Parmish Verma, 'Aje Vi Supne Sulgade" was written when after his return from Australia, he was as yet struggling to find for himself a turf in the film line. To my mind the blurb of a book should be restricted to the background, creative process and auxiliary factors of creativity; reproduction of writing (s) for the reader must be avoided. It dampens to a great extent the reader's curiosity to read the work. Therefore, I take leave of the readers after giving them just a bird's eye view of these four writings rather than letting them peep into them.
