The publication is devoted to the analysis and technical improvement of technological equipment of logging machines for harvesting logs (harvesters). The carried out researches allowed to reveal expediency of development of new constructive decisions of harvester head, and the offered technical variants of modernizations allowed to recommend a number of technical decisions with reduction of influence of dissipative forces at limbing, reduction of power intensity of process of woodcutting, and also expansion of functional opportunities of the analyzed multiuser woodcutting machines to production.
