Peer pressure is not so unknown a phenomenon. It has existed throughout generations and has become more pronounced over the years. Presence of peer pressure does exist in India too but is still in its infancy stage as compared to the West. The close bond that the Indian families share and the family beliefs and values that children carry with them, helps most to tide over this phenomenon. Seen to be manifested in various ways, peer pressure has become an interesting field of study during the phase of adolescence.
