The use of lasers in prosthodontics has revolutionised tremendously in the past decade and has replaced many traditional electrosurgical, scalpel procedures. Lasers work on the principles of Einstein's quantum theory of radiation hypothesis which was applied in the field of dentistry in the twentieth century.
