The magnetic field in Sunspots store energy that's released in Solar Flares/ Coronal Mass Ejections. As a result, Solar Sources Activities usually occur in Cycle that mimics the 11 years Sunspot Cycle. The Sun also undergoes cycle in its level of activity that span years to decades, causing long-term variations in space weather. Finally, the sun has changed substantially over the multi-million year history of our solar system, producing long term 'Climate Change' effects on our Space Weather. The Association of Carbon dioxide and Global Temperature have also been also highlighted in this book.
