The present work seeks to inform about the most important transformations that the Amparo Trial in Mexico has had with its new legal regime. Consummated with its regulatory legislation enacted in 2013, to formulate the expectations that they have caused, and to identify the challenges that this constitutional process will face—in our opinion—to fulfill its objective of guaranteeing the fundamental rights of the people. It is about following the legislative evolution of the Amparo Law for the protection of basic rights. This law, which is within the list of legal instruments that serve to ensure the validity of human rights, satisfies the need for the State itself to provide an effective judicial resource for this. It is not easy to break practices and habits rooted for many years, anchored in a nationalist culture and narrow-minded to an international law. On this matter, the new Amparo Law can provide more and better results. Several decisions of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation and other federal courts suggest that, despite the difficulties, a new vision is emerging about our constitutional justice and the protection of human rights.
