This book is prepared to help students and practitioners involved in the field of Medicine and Dentistry to understand the basic concepts of evidence ? based practice. A step-wise approach is adopted in this book to explain the evidence ?based learning process e.g. how to frame a proper clinical question, to seek its answer from the available literature and then critically appraise the available research material on that particular problem using User?s Guides. Separate chapters are written to discuss different epidemiological studies with special focus on randomized controlled trials and integrative studies like systematic review and meta-analysis. Emphasis is given on practical utilization of Evidence ?based Dentistry so that dental researchers are able to conduct these types of integrative studies and utilize the results in their practice and research. A glossary of terms is added at the end for the benefit of the readers.
