Catharanthus Roseus-somatic Embryogenesis and Temperature Khalid Hakeem

Catharanthus roseus is an important medicinal plant with the history of alkaloids exhibiting anticancerous property of which vincristine and vinblastine two dimmers forms are most important. The present study was undertaken to establish a reliable protocol of callus induction, somatic embryogenesis and its maintenance and also the study of potential of morphogenesis particularly somatic embryogenetic events by the action of various growth regulators at different concentrations and the subsequent study of these obtained somatic embryos at various temperatures.
