This book contains understanding of drought phenomena through its definitions, types, cause and effect. Besides, trends of drought in due course of time with the affected areas of India is discussed including drought of the year, 2009. Secondly understanding of rainfall in India, its changing pattern in due course of time and also its spatial variation is identified.
