Status of Social Science Teaching at Elementary Stage Priti Chaudhari

It is a descriptive type of study which is concerned with the present status of social science teaching at elementary stage. As the base must be strong for the strong building,similarly the primary education must be sound in child's life and for future career. Elementary education is very essential for all round development of an individual as well as that of nation. The right kind of outlook towards life and society needs to be cultivated at the first stage of school life and society needs to be cultivated at the first stage of school life on the part of the children. Today's generation needs to be exposed to various social aspects of social behaviour. It is necessary to make these children realize their duty towards society. Teaching them social science can serve this purpose. Social sciences are an important subject but teaching of social sciences are suffering from poor tecahing. Students considered this subject least important. So, present study is a small step to know the present status of social science teaching in schools of Vadodara.
